on being forward deployed
“forward deployed” is the most honest phrase in the industry. it means: we will send a human to your office and that human will figure it out. no roadmap survives contact with a real customer’s actual data, and the forward deployed engineer is the person standing where the roadmap ends.
we made the first tee for them. it opens drop 001 — three tees from the same vocabulary: forward deployed, 0 to 1, agentic — because the piece you launch with should be the one that started the company. everything after is just the org chart, slowly.
